SARAJEVO, July 3 (FENA) - Members of the police forces in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina marked the Police Day at the ceremony at the Hall of the FBiH Police in Sarajevo, where it was stated that the FBiH Ministry of Internal Affairs ensures and provides a high level of security to every citizen throughout the Federation of BiH.

On that occasion, FBiH Minister of the Interior Ramo Isak announced that amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs are also being prepared.

"We started activities on adopting new laws and by-laws and changes to the existing ones. I would like to emphasize the importance of passing the Law on Police Officers and the Law on Internal Affairs in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are particularly important for strengthening the position of police officers, as well as for expanding our jurisdiction following contemporary challenges. When I took the position of minister, I visited all departments and talked to the employees who pointed out certain omissions. That is why we will strive to improve the position of police officers. One of the omissions was during the promotion of our police officers that they had to leave one department to go to another and advance. This is why we will ensure that police officers do not leave departments where they are experts. We hope that in the next 60 to 90 days we will have a proposal for changes, that is, a new law," said Minister Isak.

Director of the FBiH Police Administration, Vahidin Munjić, emphasized that an indispensable factor in improving the work of the Police Administration is material and technical equipment, professional training and activities to improve cooperation with all institutions of the state, region and beyond to reach European standards in the work and operation of that administration.

The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, attended the ceremony and stated that the government's attitude towards the police reflects its attitude towards the legal order and the country as a whole.

"I am glad that you recognized that you have partners in the Government of the Federation who will be your support. We will do everything to justify your trust, to improve your position, as well as the degree of provision of material and technical resources. We know that you are the image of the Federation of BiH and we will do everything to make that image a source of pride for all the citizens of this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as all the residents of our country. It is clear to me that you often encounter limitations and formal obstacles that sometimes prevent you from doing your job in the best way. We will do everything to remove as many of these obstacles as possible," emphasized Prime Minister Nikšić.

The ceremony ended with the presenting of awards and recognition to deserving individuals and collectives who made a great contribution to improving the work of the FBiH Ministry of the Interior and the FBiH Police Administration.
