SARAJEVO, June 4 (FENA) - The Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina ( FTC BiH) as part of the project COVID-19 Investment Response/EU4Business Recovery, which is co-financed by the European Union (EU) and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, organized the presentation of BiH companies at the International Furniture and Interior Fair IMM 2023 – Spring Edition in Cologne, which takes place from June 4 to 7.

At the booth of Bosnia and Herzegovina, seven companies present their products, AS Nostro Tešanj, Malak Janj  Donji Vakuf, Ramex Kladanj, Roccaforte Vitez, Quantum Sarajevo, Senex Čelić and Smarvet from Ključ.

"The IMM Fair is the most important promotional event for Bosnia and Herzegovina's exporters of furniture to Germany and the EU, so the interest of our companies in the performance is still far greater than in other similar events.

The influence of the exhibition in Cologne on the export of individual companies is significant. On average, a third of the annual export of the companies exhibiting at this fair is the result of their contacts made during the exhibition," pointed out the advisor for the promotion of wood sector export in the FTC BiH Lejla Međedović.

The appearance at IMM 2023 – Spring Edition is the eleventh presentation of companies from the wood industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina at this fair.

The continuity of the exhibition was interrupted by the cancellation of the fair during the pandemic.

For 11 years of exhibition in Cologne, the FTC BiH has supported 83 performances of companies within the national stand, of which 43 different companies from 30 cities and towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Promotion of exports, that is, support for BiH companies from the metal and wood sector in digitization and internationalization, in order to increase their competitiveness on the foreign market is one of the key activities of the FTC BiH during the implementation of the EU4BusinessRecovery project.

COVID-19 Investment Response/EU4 Business Recovery is a European Union project that provides support to Bosnia and Herzegovina in mitigating the economic consequences caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The project is worth 13.7 million euros, and it is jointly financed by the European Union (13 million euros) and the Federal Republic of Germany (700.000 euros). It is jointly conducted by GIZ, ILO and UNDP, stated the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH.
