SARAJEVO, May 24 (FENA) - The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, spoke today in Sarajevo with the Secretary-General of the Council for Regional Cooperation (RCC), Majlinda Bregu, about the implementation of projects and modalities for strengthening cooperation in Southeast Europe.

During the meeting, Chairperson Krišto stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in the region, which will contribute to economic and social progress, the development of infrastructure and energy, and the improvement of the rule of law and security for the benefit of all residents of the region.

She added that the priority of the work of the BiH Council of Ministers is the intensification of regional cooperation and connection with neighbors as an integral part of the European integration process.

The RCC Secretary-General Bregu expressed her expectations that the countries of the Western Balkans will soon complete the ratification of the signed agreements that enable travel with identity cards in the region and mutual recognition of university diplomas and professional qualifications.

Chairperson Krišto pointed out that in mid-April the BiH Council of Ministers adopted and sent to the BiH Presidency Information on the signed agreements on freedom of movement within the Berlin process, with the aim of speeding up the process of their ratification.

These are two agreements, namely the recognition of higher education qualifications and the recognition of professional qualifications of doctors of medicine, doctors of dental medicine and architects in the context of the Central European Free Trade Agreement.

She added that her office is working hard to reach a consensus regarding the third agreement related to travel with identity cards in the Western Balkans.

At the meeting, they also discussed preparations for the Digital Summit of the Western Balkans, which will be held in Sarajevo in October 2023, as part of the Berlin Process and the Action Plan for a common regional market for the Western Balkans, following the decision of the Council of Ministers that Bosnia and Herzegovina will be the host country, stated the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
