SARAJEVO, May 23 (FENA) - The Chairman of the Joint Commission for European Integration of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zdenko Ćosić spoke today in Sarajevo with the Director of the Office for the Adriatic Region and the Balkans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy Andrea Cascone, stated the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
Ćosić and Cascone discussed the activities on the preparation of the BiH Integration Program in the European Union (EU), as well as the difficulties in realizing the 14 priorities from the European Commission's Opinion on BiH's request for EU membership. Ćosić thanked for the active role and support that the Republic of Italy provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of EU integration.
Cascone welcomed the latest steps taken by the BiH Council of Ministers and expressed his expectation that BiH will successfully fulfill its obligations as a candidate country.
Cascone emphasized that the Republic of Italy will continue to support BiH on its way to full membership in the EU.
