SARAJEVO, March 29 (FENA) - Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nenad Nešić had separate meetings today in Sarajevo with the director of the Migration, Asylum and Refugees Regional Initiative (MARRI) Saško Kocev and the representative of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) for Bosnia and Herzegovina John Kennedy Mosoti.
Minister Nešić and Director Kocev discussed the current migration situation and the improvement of regional cooperation in the field of migration. Given that the countries of the Western Balkans are on the same migration route, and thus share the same security and humanitarian challenges, the importance of strengthening coordination and harmonizing policies in this area was pointed out.
The importance of MARRI's role in these activities and assistance to member states in migration management was emphasized. They also discussed the possibility of improving the exchange of information on migration flows and trends in the region.
During the meeting with the UNFPA delegation, the focus was on the continuation of joint projects in the field of migration.
The officials stressed the commitment to continue the good cooperation between the Ministry and UNFPA, especially the support and protection of the health of migrants and vulnerable categories of the population, the Ministry of Security of BiH announced.
