SARAJEVO, October 7 (FENA) - The President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović, held a telephone conversation today with the President of the European People's Party (EPP), Manfred Weber.
The focus of the conversation was on the general elections held in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the results achieved by EPP members from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Izetbegović informed Weber that the SDA has maintained voter support at the same level compared to the General Elections held in 2018 and that this support has significantly increased in certain cantons.
They also discussed the further implementation of the election results and the formation of governments at all levels, as well as the cooperation of EPP member parties in that process.
They jointly assessed that this cooperation should be maximally improved in the interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its European perspective.
The interlocutors also exchanged opinions on the latest decision of the High Representative Christian Schmidt on the imposition of changes to the FBiH Constitution and the BiH Election Law.
Izetbegović pointed out that the High Representative's decision only strengthens the position of the HDZ BiH, and that the status of Bosniaks and Croats in the RS entity was completely ignored when the changes were imposed.
Izetbegović and Weber also discussed the Russian aggression against Ukraine and the existing and upcoming consequences of that aggression on the stability and economy of European countries.
