SARAJEVO, September 21 (FENA) - The Bill that, at the initiative of Congresswoman Ann Wagner, was adopted by the House of Representatives of the United States Congress once again confirms the key role of this legislative institution in strengthening the US role and support for Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bisera Turković, said today.
“The key messages are strengthening the state, its functionality, reforms in accordance with the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, sanctioning corruption and undermining the Dayton Peace Agreement. This is a blow to the fight for BiH's candidate status for membership in the European Union and progress towards the NATO alliance,” believes Turković.
As pointed out on her official Facebook profile, everything that has been under attack in recent months - BiH institutions, progress, reforms and human rights and equality of all citizens, represents a red line of defense because, she says, Bosnia and Herzegovina can only go forward.
“Messages from Congress are strong support at the right time. We should be especially grateful to Congresswoman Wagner and numerous friends in the US Congress, but also to the BiH community and individuals in the US who tirelessly work for Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Turković.
