The largest number of irregularities refers to unlawful and premature election campaigns

SARAJEVO, September 1 (FENA) - A total of 636 election irregularities hae been recorded in the last month as part of the observation mission of the Coalition "Under the Magnifier", and the largest number of irregularities related to the premature election campaign at a time when it is prohibited by law, it was said today at a press conference of the coalition.

The project manager of the Coalition, Dario Jovanović, explained that a total of 390 cases of premature election campaigns have been recorded, of which 157 cases were paid election campaigns on social networks. Complaints with evidence were submitted to the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He drew attention to the fact that tomorrow, September 2, the election campaign will officially begin, which will mean that political entities will be able to legally work on the active promotion of their programs and candidates.

He called on the political entities to respect the Election Law of BiH and lead a dignified and fair election campaign, and the media in BiH to enable advertising to all political entities under equal conditions and act in the best interest of the citizens.

"Of the other most frequent irregularities, 185 of them refer to various forms of misuse of public resources for the purposes of political promotion, which includes the intensification of infrastructure works, official campaigns, promotion and marking of the beginning or end of certain public works, giving various forms of aid and the like," said Jovanović.

The coalition reminded that more than 2,000 election observers will be engaged in monitoring of the 2022 General Elections.
