BiH CEC signs statement 'Together against hate speech'

SARAJEVO, June 21 (FENA) - Member of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vanja Bjelica-Prutina signed a joint statement "Together against hate speech" on behalf of the Central Election Commission of BiH today at the United Nations House in Sarajevo.

 

In addition to the CEC, the statement was signed by representatives of the BiH Communication Regulatory Agency, the BiH Agency for Gender Equality and the BiH Human Rights Ombudsman Institution.

The signatory institutions reaffirmed their commitment and determination to fight and condemn all forms of hate speech, on any grounds, in accordance with their competencies and international human rights norms and standards.

The statement expressed commitment to strengthening mutual cooperation, and emphasized the commitment to cooperate with civil society organizations, in order to raise awareness of hate speech and its consequences, and to unite forces in preventing and combating hate speech, announced the BiH CEC.
