BAKU, June 16 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries, which were noted to be very close and friendly.
Chairman Džaferović said that he wished Azerbaijan success in the reconstruction and reconstruction of Karabakh, in the implementation of the agreement after the last war, and in the protection of its territorial integrity in accordance with international law.
The two officials discussed the improvement of economic cooperation, and a special topic was cooperation in the field of energy.
President Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan is ready to supply Bosnia and Herzegovina with all the necessary quantities of natural gas after the construction of the Adriatic-Ionian gas pipeline.
Džaferović said that Bosnia and Herzegovina was interested in importing gas from Azerbaijan through the construction of a connection to the Adriatic-Ionian gas pipeline and that he would discuss this with officials of the European Union, which included the Western Balkans in its strategic plans to diversify energy supplies, reducing dependence on gas from a single source.
The Chairman of the Presidency of BiH is visiting Azerbaijan, where he is participating in the 9th Global Baku Forum.
