SARAJEVO, May 26 (FENA) - Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Selmo Cikotić participated in the United Nations Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Bali.
At this extremely important gathering, global cooperation in the field of protection and rescue and disaster management was discussed.
In his address, Minister Cikotić pointed out that Bosnia and Herzegovina is on the path to European integration, which means capacity building and integration into the modern world and European concept of protection and rescue systems.
He reminded that Bosnia and Herzegovina is vulnerable to natural or other disasters, with a significant percentage of vulnerable populations at risk, which is why he believes that reducing the risk and impact of natural or other disasters is one of the key security issues.
"The program we are working on together is crucial for BiH because it not only contributes to strengthening the disaster risk management model, but is also the basis for long-term risk management and sustainable development, for the benefit of everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina," Cikotić said, announced the BiH Ministry of Security.
