BIHAĆ, May 24 (FENA) - All available teams of the Bihać Fire Brigade are currently engaged in extinguishing a large fire, which broke out at around seven o'clock this morning at the premises of the Austrian factory ‘Austrotherm’.
Employees of the company, who were on duty at the time of the fire, confirmed that they all managed to save themselves, i.e. that there were no human casualties.
“About ten of us who were at work, managed to leave the production hall in time. The fire broke out literally in a minute, so we didn't have time to save material things. I can’t even describe how I feel because I’ve spent 15 years of my life working here. I’ve been there from the very beginning, literally since starting the company. Half of my life is here and it is disappearing in flames,” said one of the employees of Austrotherm.
This Bihać factory employs more than 50 workers and has so far been extremely successful in both domestic and foreign markets.
Spokesman of the Una-Sana Canton Police Administration Adnan Beganović confirmed that all available firefighting, police and medical teams are on the ground.
“For now, we cannot give more information, considering that the intervention on the ground is still ongoing,” Beganović added.
