SARAJEVO, May 15 (FENA) - According to the previously proposed agenda, the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina should consider the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Value Added Tax, proposed by the House of Representatives of the State Parliament, which envisages the introduction of a VAT rate of five percent on certain food items and medicines, and 22 percent of VAT on luxury products.

However, considering that the Committee for Finances and Budget of the House of Peoples did not consider the proposed Bill and did not make a report on it, it is uncertain whether it will be considered tomorrow.

A session of the Finance and Budget Committee, which was supposed to discuss this and several other bills, was not held late last week due to a lack of quorum.

"Since these are items that are planned to be at the session of the House of Peoples scheduled for Monday, May 16, all ten items that the Committee should have considered will be removed from the session of the House of Peoples," said the chair of the committee Dušanka Majkić.

The delegates should discuss the principles of the Bill on Prevention of Conflict of Interest in the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, proposed by the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Constitutional Committee of the House of Peoples determined the compliance with the Constitution and the legal system of BiH, but did not support the principles of the proposed law.

The House of Representatives previously adopted a proposal for this law, the adoption of which is, among other things, one of the 14 priorities of the European Commission regarding BiH's application for membership in the European Union, and one of only three conditions that are related to legislation listed among those 14 priorities.
