MOSTAR, May 10 (FENA) - Flights on the direct line Dusseldorf-Mostar-Dusseldorf for 2022 announced for June 30 have been canceled, citing poor ticket sales.

- We have received official confirmation from the airline Eurowings that the canceled flights announced for June 30 on the route Düsseldorf - Mostar - Düsseldorf. Unfortunately, we have no official information for reasons, and unofficially we find out that it is due to low aircraft occupancy, ie that ticket sales did not meet the minimum conditions of economy and profitability required by the airline - said in an interview with Fena Mostar International Airport Director Ivan Ljubic.

He says they as an airport have met all the requirements as operators and servers of airport services.

According to him, Eurowings expressed hope that they will continue their cooperation and reminded that they have a signed contract with them until 2023, i.e. for 2023, and they hope that they will overcome the problems that have arisen.

- We are continuing our strategy, and as the statistics of our airport show passengers' interest in religious tourism, Mostar Airport has announcements for flights from Spain, Ireland and Italy, and could soon be connected with Poland - adds Ljubić and notes that flights to Beirut starting in August and Jordan on 16 June have been reestablished.

It should be reminded that the Mayor of Mostar Mario Kordić, the director of the airport Ivan Ljubić and the president of the board of the Hungarian airline Robert Carey recently talked about the cooperation between Mostar Airport and the Hungarian company Wizz Air in Budapest.

Mostar Airport has previously announced charter flights from Italy (Palermo and Catania) from July 31 to September 3, flights from Amman (Jordan) from May 3 to September 1, and flights on the route Katowice - Mostar from June 21 until September 30th.
