SARAJEVO, April 12 (FENA) - The government wants to distribute additional funds from excise duties and VAT not in accordance with the law, but in the way that suits them best before the elections, which is why they are sabotaging VAT cuts and abolishing excise duties to help all citizens, said today President of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) Mirko Šarović.
"Those who form the government at the level of BiH, including those who come from the RS, will sabotage the attempt of a number of deputies to mitigate the consequences of the economic crisis by abolishing excise duties and reducing the VAT rate," said Šarović in a statement.
He said that the initiative of the SDS to reduce VAT and abolish excise duties has been sabotaged for almost two months, and that the government offers unbelivable explanations for such moves.
"It is a crazy idea to reduce excise taxes to a month. They want to distribute the additional money as they want, and not to reduce the burden of the crisis on citizens and the economy by reducing VAT and abolishing excise taxes on fuel,” Šarović concluded in a statement.
