SARAJEVO, March 18 (FENA) - A tourism promotion video "Why Bosnia and Herzegovina can be the number one tourist destination in the world", by Robert Dacešin from Banja Luka, adventurer and travel writer, and his associate Milan Banjac, was named the best tourism film in the category of best tourist destinations - countries, at the prestigious Japan World Tourism Film Festival held on March 16 and 17, 2022, on the island of Yoron, in southern Japan.
This exceptional award, on behalf of the winner, was accepted by the special guest of the Festival, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Japan Siniša Berjan, who thanked the organizers of the Festival and the international jury for the extremely positive evaluation and valuable recognition for tourism promo video from BiH.
A total of 1,542 videos from many countries of the world took part in the competition part of the Festival. This is also the largest number of received applications in the history of the Festival. The first festival award for BiH tourism promo video was of great importance, taking into account the number of applications received and the extremely strict criteria of the international jury.
As part of the official program of the Festival, a special one-hour forum dedicated to tourism in BiH was held, which attracted great attention of the Festival participants, and the main participants were Ambassador Siniša Berjan and Akihiro Kashima, President of the International Jury.
At the invitation of the ambassador, eminent Japanese experts in the field of tourism, confirmed the possibility of an upcoming visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of further promoting the region.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Festival, which was broadcast live worldwide, was held in the open with a limited number of participants.
The Japan World Tourism Film Festival is an official member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals, the BiH Embassy in Japan said.
