SARAJEVO, February 23 (FENA) - Secretary General of the Democratic Front Dženan Đonlagić said in Sarajevo today that it is not true that the Central Bank of BiH (CBBH) has fiat money.
He pointed out that the basic principle of functioning of the "currency board" model of our monetary policy is that there is no fiat money and that the CBBH reserves serve exclusively to maintain the stability of the domestic currency - Convertible Mark.
Đonlagić stated that the stability of the KM is the strategic and primary goal of the CBBH, which must not be jeopardized by any changes to the Law on the CBBH.
“Entities cannot, nor will they dispose of CBBH money in any variant. Therefore, the reserves of our monetary state institution cannot and will not be used for any operations at the entity level,” said Đonlagić, the DF said.
