SARAJEVO, February 8 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina Staša Košarac received today in Sarajevo Chinese Ambassador to BiH Ji Ping with whom he discussed current political and economic issues, the BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations stated.
Košarac emphasized that Republika Srpska and its officials do not accept the legitimacy of Christian Schmidt as the new High Representative in BiH, since he was not appointed in accordance with international law and Annex 10 of the Dayton Peace Agreement, and thanked China for the same official position.
Minister Košarac and Ambassador Ji Ping stated that the solution to the current political crisis in BiH must be sought within the framework of the Constitution and in a democratic atmosphere.
Košarac stated that the Republika Srpska is proving its readiness and continuously calls for internal dialogue within the framework of the Dayton Agreement and the Constitution, insisting on preserving its constitutional capacity.
“Unfortunately, the political representatives of Bosniaks are declaratively in favor of the implementation of the BiH Constitution, but in practice they confirm the opposite approach. We are witnesses that they are avoiding dialogue with the other two peoples in BiH, expecting that someone from the outside will impose a solution, which is completely unacceptable,” said Minister Košarac.
The interlocutors welcomed the good and friendly ties between BiH and China and stressed that there is room for improving economic cooperation.
Minister Košarac expressed gratitude for China's help and support in the realization of projects in the Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH.
