TUZLA, January 20 (FENA) - US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Eric Nelson, who will soon leave the post, praised the work of the Tuzla Canton Government during an online meeting with the Tuzla Canton Prime Minister Kadrija Hodžić and expressed the expectation that the partnership between the cantonal government and the US Embassy will continue in the mandate of the new ambassador.
“He especially pointed out and praised the transparency in the work of the Government and the numerous steps that the Government, led by Prime Minister Hodžić, has taken in the prevention and fight against corruption,” the Government of the Tuzla Canton announced.
The statement states that during the meeting, they also talked about the current political situation at the state and entity levels, and the reflections that these events may have on the security situation in BiH.
“Ambassador Nelson expressed his conviction that there will be no escalation and transfer of the political crisis in that direction, and that the guarantor of that, along with domestic security agencies, including the TC MoI, is the presence of EUFOR and NATO forces in BiH. In this regard, Ambassador Nelson called on all political representatives in BiH to soften their rhetoric, and to return the action to the framework of institutions and the state system,” it is stated in the statement.
At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Hodžić thanked the Ambassador for the cooperation and partnership support that he personally and the US Embassy in BiH as a whole provided to the Tuzla Canton.
