TRAVNIK, January 19 (FENA) - The municipality of Travnik and France will revive the French presence in BiH through joint projects, given that France is one of the two countries that in the past had a consulate in Travnik, it was said today after a meeting between the mayor of Travnik Kenan Dautović and the French ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Christine Toudic.

Toudic says that, after France took over the presidency of the European Union, the goal is the maximum presence of that European country in the whole of BiH.

- Since Travnik is a place where France has been present before, this was an opportunity to revive it. The mayor has the same ideas, it is a sign to me that we need to work together, so through the project, we will try to revive the time of the French presence here through Ivo Andrić and his work - said Toudic.

Mayor Dautović announced a new event, Consular Days, whose first guest of honor will be France.

- One of the concrete results of this visit is that we have now in some way already determined the place, time and manner of holding the Consular Times, and that will be on June 3 this year. We certainly planned to realize this event with an invitation to the entire diplomatic corps in Sarajevo, but France has accepted to be the first guest of honor. Through the promotion of a tradition from an old-time, we will remember what connects us and, of course, all this together based on our Nobel Prize winner, which we are very proud of - said Dautović.
