SARAJEVO, January 16 (FENA) - BiH Minister of Civil Affairs Ankica Gudeljević attended the central inauguration ceremony of Novi Sad for the European Capital of Culture.
On that occasion, a number of cultural events are being held in Novi Sad, which gathered the highest officials in the field of culture from European countries, the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs announced.
The statement said that Gudeljević also held a bilateral meeting with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information Maja Gojković. During the meeting, a brief summary of the achieved level of cultural cooperation between the two neighboring countries was made, and it was agreed to further affirm the work of the Joint Committee for Cultural Cooperation.
Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina work together through a number of international committees and co-operate in several important activities with the task of protecting the common cultural heritage. Close cooperation is being achieved on the protection of the necropolis of stećak tombstones and the conservation and preservation of the Mehmed-paša Sokolović Bridge, as both cultural assets are on the UNESCO list of protected cultural heritage.
