PRIJEDOR, December 12 (FENA) - Although the first preliminary results of the Central Election Commission are still pending, the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) has declared victory in the election for the mayor of Prijedor.
Celebrations are taking place at the election headquarters of the SNSD and they issued a statement that their candidate Slobodan Javor has been elected the mayor of Prijedor.
According to exit polls of the SNSD, its candidate Slobodan Javor has 54.84 percent of the vote, and the coalition "For Our Prijedor - DNS, SDS and PDP" Goran Predojevic has won 36.94 percent, according to the coalition's election headquarters based on a quarter of the votes counted.
Independent candidate Slađana Radaković won 2.98 percent of the vote, and all other 11 candidates won 3.11 percent.
-"I thank everyone who voted for me and supported our policies. Our coalition is strong and will be stronger with every new day," said Javor.
The Central Election Commission said about 25,826 voters or 30.98 percent of the total number of eligible voters went to the polls.
The CEC will announce the first preliminary incomplete election results by 10.30 pm tonight.
