SARAJEVO, September 22 (FENA) - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković spoke by phone today with the Chief Prosecutor of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Courts (IMC) Serge Brammertz, among other things, on Bosnia and Herzegovina's cooperation with ICTY, issues of regional cooperation in the processing of war crimes and the arrest of BiH citizen Edin Vranj in Serbia, and on the cases of 'Mujanović' and 'Osmanović'.
The importance of active cooperation between the prosecutor's offices of the two countries was especially emphasized.
Minister Turković pointed out the fact that Serbia does not respect the Protocol on Cooperation signed by the prosecutor's offices of the two countries in 2013, and defines the timely exchange of information on investigations and indictments.
- Also, Minister Turković pointed out that the issue of processing war crimes is a matter of peace enforcement and that such actions of Serbia directly violate the Protocol, but also other regulations of international law and attack the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, regional cooperation and rights and freedom of movement of citizens - he said.
At the same time, as she stated, the Serbian authorities refuse to extradite to Bosnia and Herzegovina persons convicted of war crimes and genocide or if criminal proceedings are being conducted against them, as is the case with Novak Đukić, Duško Kornjača or Milomir Savičić. There was also talk about the implementation of the Revised Strategy for War Crimes Prosecution, said the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH.
