SARAJEVO, August 9 (FENA) - The Center for the Promotion of Civil Society (CPCD) successfully realized the photo/video challenge "Nature is Love" within the project "Think Nature!" by awarding valuable prizes to the authors of the best photos and videos from Mostar, Goražde and Bijeljina.

In mid-May this year, CPCD announced a call for young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina (13 to 30 years old) to participate in the photo/video challenge "Nature is love" with a photo or short video within one of the categories "Gratitude to nature", "I help nature" and "I live nature".

The public call closed on July 15th and there were a total of 130 applications from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, of which 109 applications were for photo and 21 applications for a video challenge.

More than 12.000 people voted for their favorite photos and videos, and Bakir Čustović from Mostar won the first place. Project Manager of CPCD and the leader of the project "Think Nature!" Dajana Cvjetković presented him with the award - a bicycle.

Emila Geca from Goražde won the second place and was awarded an electric scooter, while Dino Pantić from Bijeljina, the author of the third prize, received a tablet.

Dajana Cvjetković told FENA that "Think Nature!" a three-year-long project, financially supported by Sweden in the amount of three million KM.

“The main goal of the project is to increase the impact of civil society in environmental protection through networking of civil society organizations, institutions, professionals, media and youth for joint, synchronized and strong action at the local level. We do this in several ways, one of which is involving young people in thinking about nature and protecting the environment. An additional significance of the project is the contribution to the implementation of the requirements of the European Union and international agreements in the field of environment, climate and energy that have been ratified by BiH. We want to encourage young people to use products that do not pollute the environment and that will have a positive impact on their health,” said Cvjetković.

She stated that the CPCD is pleasantly surprised by the participation of young people in this photo-video challenge.

After the ceremony organized in the "Aleksa Šantić" Park in Mostar, 19-year-old Bakir Čustović said that the award means a lot to him, "because it will make it easier for him to go to places, do some physical exercise and pollute nature less". It was the bicycle, along with the sunset, that was the motif in his award-winning photograph.

"I think the project "Think Nature!" is good and should be supported because many young people do not care or think about nature, including my society. We all need to be more engaged in protecting nature,” said Čustović.

All the winners expressed their gratitude to CPCD, as well as those who voted for them, Facebook friends and other people who made it possible for them to win prizes.
