Damage caused by recent floods in Tuzla surpasses four million KM

FENA Press release

TUZLA, August 4 (FENA) - The commission for the assessment of the damage caused during a natural disaster, a major flood storm that hit Tuzla recently, is still on the ground to assess the true situation after the flooding.

Preliminary data show that the damages are more than four million KM, and so far 430 reports have been received for the damages on private property, legal entities and communal infrastructure.

“The central commission performed a preliminary assessment of the damage and it is more than four million KM. After that, three new commissions have been formed; one that will assess the damage to communal infrastructure, the other will assess the damage to legal entities, public companies and institutions, while the third will assess the damage reported by private entities.

The first thing we are doing is to eliminate the damage to the communal infrastructure, in order to provide what people need, road communications, as well as the restoration of damage to the water and electricity networks,” said Slavko Stjepić, assistant mayor of Tuzla for the civil protection service.
