SARAJEVO, August 2 (FENA) - Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić attended a commemoration on the occasion of the death of FBiH Minister for Veteran Affairs and Disabled Veterans of the Liberation War Salko Bukvarević, who died on July 29 at the Podhrastovi Clinic for Lung Diseases in Sarajevo.
At the commemoration in the building of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH in Sarajevo in the presence of officials, friends and family members of the deceased minister, Novalić emphasized "the late Salko Bukvarević was a true son of Bosnia and Herzegovina. One of those quiet but extremely valuable sons of our state."
“Modesty and humbleness were, among other things, a reflection of his good upbringing. Bosnia and Herzegovina was as valuable to him as his honest mining family, which raised him in the spirit of true human values. Those who were side by side with Salko in the most difficult times of the defense of our country testify to his courage. Salko proved his patriotism not only on the battlefield but in everything he did for the rest of his life,” said the FBiH Prime Minister.
PM Novalić pointed out that Bukavrević did a lot for the benefit of this population during the years he spent at the head of the veterans' ministry, and only he and those who truly followed his work know how difficult it was to achieve.
He tried to make everyone in power understand that fighters are the most deserving that we have the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He had a special feeling for the members of the families of martyrs and the killed fighters, Novalić pointed out.
He recalled Bukvarević's words that "our constant task is to take care of these families, because their fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters gave the most they could to defend Bosnia and Herzegovina - their lives. He clearly emphasized that they were the ones who defended citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the thousand-year-old tradition of life in this area".
