SARAJEVO, August 2 (FENA) - Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein ef. Kavazović addressed at the central Eid ceremony at Gazi Husrev-bey's mosque in Sarajevo and led the sermon on the occasion of Eid al-Adha on Friday.
Raisu-l-ulama said that in our modern history this Eid will be remembered for the fact that believers from all parts of the world could not visit the holy places in Mecca and Medina. The world, he added, is facing great temptation and challenge, and the virus has destroyed many societies and many families.
“We should always re-examine our intention, before we decide to act, nothing interferes in our lives as our intention and sacrifice we make. Our destiny is tied to them. Allah does not need the flesh or blood of the Qurban, it is said in the Qur'an. Allah looks at our intention and our piety. Today, we are facing our challenges and trials, worldly desires and vows, not only religious but also moral and professional,” added Kavazović.
Each of us, as he said, should remain committed to what he/she is, a teacher of the faith, a parent to the family, a politician to politics, a statesman to the state, a doctor to the sick, a master to his craft, and an artist to the art.
He added that Eid is the time when we should approach each other, ask for halal and offer an apology. Raisu-l-ulama noted that three things must be sacred to every Muslim and they are: his life, property and his honor.
"These chosen days are ideal for us to start a long and difficult fight against our divisions, quarrels and public quarrels. Let us not be an example of bad behavior and conduct. In our society, let us be role models, examples morality and honesty. We should spread the good and fight towards making it dominant,” Kavazović added.
In these difficult times of temptation, as he stated, we should take care of ourselves by wearing masks, keeping the prescribed distance and taking care of hygiene.
He said that we should not allow differences to distance us from each other and that we should not judge people for what God is the final judge.
