SARAJEVO, July 22 (FENA) - Members of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly in the Parliamentary Committee for Stabilization and Association between the BiH Parliamentary Assembly and the European Parliament adopted at today's meeting the Rules of Procedure of the Parliamentary Stabilization and Association Committee.
A member of the Parliamentary Committee Denis Zvizdić told reporters that the result of the meeting was that after five years, the Rules of Procedure have been adopted, with which the Committee of the European Parliament also agreed.
“A very important thing is that with today's constitution of the Parliamentary Committee for Stabilization and Association and the adoption of the Rules of Procedure, we have solved one of the 14 priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission for BiH,” said Zvizdić.
He added that this is another step on BiH's path to European integration and once again a very clear commitment of BiH to become a member of the EU in the future.
“We have waited for this for a long time. The Committee was constituted in November 2015. In the previous term, completely unreasonably, even irrationally, there were some proposals on various forms of entity voting, which was unacceptable for the representatives of the Committee representing the European Parliament.
Today, we have resolved this and I think that the message we can send to Brussels is very important that, in addition to the elections in Mostar, in addition to certain other resolved activities, this issue has been resolved as one of the priorities we received in the Opinion,” said Zvizdić.
He explained that the decision-making will be done through two-thirds majority of the present members of the Committee, "which gives complete guarantees that there could be no outvoting".
