SARAJEVO, July 15 (FENA) - Members of the Committee for the Ppreparation of the appointment of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the BiH Parliamentary Assembly nominated Selmo Cikotić (Party of Democratic Action - SDA) for BiH Minister of Security at a session today.
Four members of the Committee voted for Cikotić, three members voted against, while two abstained.
During the session, the deputies asked Cikotić about the issue concerning migration, and the candidate for minister said that it was a global security problem that he saw as a humanitarian, but also a security, economic, demographic and cultural issue.
He believes that BiH cannot solve this issue on its own, but it is necessary to act in cooperation with all other countries, especially those where migrants come from.
Committee member Predrag Kožul (HDZ) said that he would not support the appointment of Cikotić because it would not contribute to the improvement of relations in the coalition, since the party resents him for his alleged involvement in the expulsion of Croats from Bugojno.
He received a response from the chairman of the Committee, Halid Genjac (SDA), who said that Cikotić would contribute to the improvement of trust within the Council of Ministers of BiH with his competencies.
