Trgovska gora problem - Coordinating Body to address Tegeltija

SARAJEVO, July 15 (FENA) - The Coordinating Body for Disposal of Radioactive Waste and Spent Nuclear Fuel at the Trgovska Gora site will address the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Zoran Tegeltija, respecting his authority and commitment to resolving the open issue with Croatia.

It will demand that it organizes consultations with members of the Coordination Team and BiH Foreign Minister Bisera Turković to overcome potential disagreements, it was concluded today during a video conference organized by Bosnia and Herzegovina Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Staša Košarac. of the said coordination body, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH announced.

Minister Košarac informed his interlocutors that on July 9, 2020, he sent a letter to Minister Turković requesting a working-consultative meeting in order to resolve the new situation and eliminate possible dilemmas, but that he had not received any feedback until today.

The meeting expressed concern that Croatia has undertaken a number of activities related to the construction of a radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel depot at the said location, near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It was also pointed out that the Croatian side estimates that the value of the construction of the landfill at Trgovska gora will amount to 10 million euros and that about 3,000 cubic meters of the disputed waste will be disposed of.
