France donates system to combat illegal arms trade to BiH

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, July 10 (FENA) - Deputy Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nedeljko Jović and French Ambassador to BiH Guillaume Rousson signed an agreement yesterday on donating EVOFINDER system within the framework of strengthening cooperation in the field of internal security, especially the fight against illicit trade in firearms, ammunition and explosives.

This ballistic recognition system enables the analysis of ammunition and weapons, their verification in a common database and possible comparison of cases throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, the BiH Ministry of Security said.

The donation also envisages the allocation of materials for access and use by all police agencies in the country, and later it will be possible to perform international data exchange with other countries that have the same type of material.

“This donation for security agencies in BiH will facilitate the work of officials and already strengthens bilateral cooperation in the field of security, which is fully part of the French strategy for the Western Balkans adopted in April 2019,” said Rousson.
