SARAJEVO, July 8 (FENA) - The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić and the FBiH Minister of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Amir Zukić visited the municipality of Tešanj today where they met with the Mayor Suad Huskić and businessmen.

They discussed public infrastructure works and investments in Tešanj, as well as the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on health and the municipality's economy.

The Mayor of Tešanj, Suad Huskić, said that they discussed strategic projects in the municipality related to the construction of a 110 kilowatt substation near the settlement of Jelah, in the Glinište business zone and in that sense the investment process has been unblocked and beginning of the construction of the substation can be expected soon.

They also discussed the construction of a roundabout in Jelah and the connection of the business zone to the main road, but also the construction of Corridor Vc. The Mayor said that they have been negotiating intensively with the Motorways recently and they have demands of the local community in terms of design and construction.

“We expect to start construction planning on that route in the next two to three months and we hope that the process of contracting public procurement will begin by the end of this year,” Huskić added.

“Tešanj has a large volume of industrial production and the cross section of the situation in the municipality of Tešanj is indicative for the entire Federation of BiH, except for zones that are tourist-service oriented,” said Novalić.

The Prime Minister confirmed that yesterday the banks approved funds for the construction of the 41-kilometer section from Medakovo in Tešanj to Žepče, for which 340 million euros were approved, plus 60 million euros previously allocated.

“A total of 400 million euros will be invested in this part of the Federation of BiH in the next three years. Now follows the technical solution of expropriation and design of that section, which is nearing completion, in order to open a tender for construction by the New Year,” the FBiH Prime Minister explained.

FBiH allocated 3.6 million KM from the FBiH budget to help the economy in Tešanj through the "corona law", but the Prime Minister notes that it is still unknown how the pandemic will affect the economy.
