SARAJEVO, July 7 (FENA) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Šefik Džaferović called today for an emergency meeting the Serbian Ambassador to BiH Aleksandar Đorđević.
The reason for calling the Serbian ambassador is to protest against the verdict under which a BiH national, Husein Mujanović was convicted before a Serbian court for alleged war crimes committed on the territory of our country, as well as to protest against the practice of prosecuting BiH citizens by Serbian authorities.
Namely, the high court in Belgrade on Monday sentenced Husein Mujanović, who was accused of allegedly abusing Serbs in Hrasnica near Sarajevo in 1992, as a wartime prison commander, to ten years in prison.
Mujanović was arrested by the Serbian police in July 2018, at the border crossing between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.
He has been in custody in Serbia ever since, and the court stated that the time will be included in his sentence.
It is a first instance verdict that can be appealed.
