ZENICA, July 2 (FENA) - Zenica Cantonal Hospital received today two ventilators as a donation from the European Union in the amount of 88.000 KM which will facilitate the treatment of patients in this institution.
Nicolas Bizel, Head of Operations Section I (Justice and Home Affairs, Public Administration Reform) of the EU Delegation, said that Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDC) has received donations worth 360.000 KM so far, and it is planned to donate medical equipment to other cantons as well, which the EU is implementing through its UNDP implementation partner.
Director of the Cantonal Hospital in Zenica, Rasim Skomorac, pointed out that the donation of the European Union is of great importance for this health institution.
“We are all witnesses to the worsening of the epidemiological situation and our predictions are coming true that things will not go easily, but by building intensive care and equipping it with new ventilators, we will certainly be prepared,” Skomorac emphasized.
ZDC Minister of Health Adnan Jupić said that the donation came to the right hands and that this institution would continue to provide quality health service.
“The results show that we have come a long way in terms of providing health services and that, given that more than 95 percent of patients were cared for in hospitals and that only one death was reported, we found a quality answer,” Jupić added.
ZDC Prime Minister Mirza Ganić explains that today's donation is the result of cooperation between the ZDC Government and the UN Development Program (UNDP) as a mediator of EU donor funds.
