Čavara receives UN Resident Coordinator in BiH Macdonald in an inaugural visit

SARAJEVO, June 29 (FENA) - President of the Federation of BiH, Marinko Čavara, received today UN Resident Coordinator in BiH, Ingrid Macdonald, in an inaugural visit and discussed coronavirus pandemic.

The officials emphasized it is necessary to respect the measures and recommendations of the competent institutions, but also to ensure economic activity and enable normal life for every resident, as well as preserving the socio-economic situation, the PR Office of the President of the Federation of BiH said.

They also discussed the problem of illegal migration, which should not be viewed only as a humanitarian issue, but also as a security issue, i.e. it is necessary to provide humane conditions for migrants to stay in BiH, but primarily provide security to BiH residents.

Coordinator Macdonald expressed satisfaction with the current cooperation between the UN and the Federation of BiH, and thanked the President of the Federation of BiH for supporting the joint regional program "Dialogue for the Future", which aims to promote coexistence and diversity in BiH.

Čavara wished Coordinator Macdonald a successful upcoming term in BiH, and expressed hope that the current cooperation will be even more successful and productive in resolving issues important for every resident in the Federation of BiH and BiH, it is said in a statement.
