SARAJEVO, June 22 (FENA) - President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti sent a letter to former BiH Council of Ministers chairman and current Deputy Speaker of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Denis Zvizdić and thanked him for support and excellent cooperation between BiH and EBRD in the implementation of numerous infrastructure projects important for BiH, as well as for participation in the organization and holding of the EBRD Annual Meeting in May 2019. He expressed confidence that the conference brought great benefits to the economy and people of BiH.

“I would also like to thank you for your cooperation and leadership in organizing the EBRD Annual Meeting held in Sarajevo last year. The bank's staff, as well as our members, rated the meeting as one of the best in the history of the EBRD. You have not only set a high standard for other such meetings, but you have fully promoted Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entire Western Balkans. My wife and I, and indeed many other participants were touched by your incredible hospitality. Once again, thank you for that,” stated Chakrabarti.

He added that BiH and the wider region are facing unique challenges as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and stressed that the EBRD is ready to continue to provide full support in the economic recovery.

"Let me assure you that the EBRD will be with your country, doing everything it can to help you," Chakrabarti wrote, it was confirmed for FENA.

The EBRD's annual meeting was held in May last year, when Zvizdić was chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers. This meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development was an extremely important event for BiH, which has not happened in the last few decades.

The meeting in Sarajevo hosted more than 3.000 participants, more than 70 delegations, EBRD governors, business delegations and businessmen from more than 70 countries with which the EBRD has business contacts and in which it invests. More than 600 attendees were directly from the international business community.
