BANJA LUKA, June 21 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik said that Republika Srpska and Serbia have the right to special connections in accordance with the Dayton Agreement.
Those connections, he says, should be even more "special in terms of content, which no one disputes."
Dodik stated that Serbia is "a significant guarantor of stability in the region".
“Serbia is the most important country on the Balkan Peninsula and a country that generates and provides with peace in this area and that is something that determines all of us in that regard,” Dodik said in a statement to reporters after voting for the parliamentary elections in Serbia at the Serbian Consulate General in Banja Luka. He also said that a strong Serbia is "the guarantor of the existence and survival of the Republika Srpska."
“We have solved many issues, there are others to be solved, such as greater harmonization of educational programs. We will strive for the curricula in schools in Serbia and RS to be the same and in that respect to study the same national history, Serbian language and Cyrillic alphabet, and we share those values,” he stated.
Dodik, who has Serbian citizenship, expressed hope that Serbia would get a stable government that would enable national and state reunion when it comes to resolving serious issues, such as Kosovo and Metohija, and ensuring its continued development and strengthening on every other plan.
