SARAJEVO, June 17 (FENA) - BiH Deputy Minister of Security Nedeljko Jović received today Head of the European Union Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU Special Representative in BiH, Ambassador Johann Sattler, who supported activities of the BiH Security Ministry and cooperation between the two institutions.
The interlocutors emphasized and supported previously agreed cooperation with EUROPOL, which have been stalled for years and all future steps, inter alia, signing of instructions on issues relevant to the implementation of the Agreement on Operational and Strategic Cooperation with EUROPOL, sending of liaison officers from BiH to the EUROPOL headquarters in The Hague and other technical issues regarding the establishment of a joint contact point such as relocation of equipment from Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies in the premises of the Ministry of Security of BiH.
The officials also discussed the issue of migration. It was emphasized that this is a global and complex problem, which includes global and multi-agency solutions.
They pointed out that this is an issue that concerns everyone at the level of the state of BiH, especially the humanitarian aspect of the problem.
The need for adoption of an action plan for the suppression of illegal migration in BiH, which is in the procedure of the Council of Ministers of BiH, was emphasized. The engagement of FRONTEX members to help the BiH security forces was also discussed.
The work of police agencies in the field of migration, which, despite insufficient human and material resources, successfully oppose this problem, was positively assessed, the Ministry of Security of BiH announced.
