CCI expects appointment of members of the Audit Committee of FBiH Parliament

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, June 15 (FENA) - Centers for Civil Initiatives (CCI) expect that the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH will propose as one of the agenda items the appointment of members of the Audit Committee in the House to appoint the remaining members so that the Committee is finally formed, and create conditions for parliamentary control over spending of public money.

The CCI reminds that the FBiH Parliament has been functioning without the Parliamentary Audit Committee for more than two years, which is why the audit reports for 2018 and 2017 were not considered, nor were discussions organized with responsible persons from entities whose work auditors assessed negatively or as modified opinions.

Among the 74 audit reports for 2017 and 2018, as many as 60 were to be the subject of debate within parliaments.

Currently, only half of the members of the Parliamentary Audit Committee from the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament have been appointed.

Treating this situation as unacceptable, the CCI sent an official initiative to the Collegium of the House of Representatives on May 25 this year to consider appointing the remaining members of the Parliamentary Audit Committee of the FBiH Parliament at the next session of the House of Representatives, the CCI stated.

The session of the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament has been announced for today.
