Čolić: More and more people infected with coronavirus in Tuzla

TUZLA, June 15 (FENA) – The situation in Tuzla Canton (TC) is becoming increasingly serious and if citizens do not respect the measures, this canton could experience epidemic scenarios like Spain and Italy, said TC Minister of Health Dajana Čolić.

She pointed out that the goal of the Tuzla Canton Crisis Staff is not to implement restrictive measures again, and they continue to rely on conscience of the citizens, but also on the Ministry of the Interior and inspection services.

“We will use everything at our disposal only so that we do not enter into restrictive measures that could seriously endanger the economy. I call on parents' councils in schools to postpone graduation celebrations for at least a month until the epidemiological situation becomes more favorable,” Čolić told FENA.

What could be an additional problem in Tuzla is that more and more people are coming from abroad who are positive for coronavirus.

“We have two people positive with coronavirus who come from Sweden. One person comes from Germany. The person on the ventilator comes from the Netherlands. This is the situation that we are afraid of in the coming period and I urge people and our citizens from abroad to prolong their travels. We are aware of the fact that they want to see and visit their loved ones, but I am saying this only in order to preserve people's health and not to spread the infection in Tuzla Canton,” said Čolić.

She believes that a certain type of control over the entry of people into BiH must be introduced at border crossings.

After the case of coronavirus was confirmed at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Tuzla, Rector Nermina Hadžigrahić stated that immediately after learning that the student of that faculty was positive for COVID-19, she contacted the competent authorities.

For now, she added, there is no room for panic, as the student has been in contact with a very small number of students and faculty staff.

However, she said they cannot do anything regarding the compliance with measures outside the faculty, because the infected student comes from one of the largest clusters in BiH, Živinice.
