SARAJEVO, June 8 (FENA) - The international tea and medicinal herbs festival ‘Sarajevo Tea Fest’, opened today at the Square of the Children of Sarajevo for its 18th edition and it will last until June 14.

Samira Katica-Arnautović, a member of the Festival Directorate, told FENA that this event started 18 years ago, emphasizing that they strive to promote, present and improve the sector of medicinal herbs, beekeeping, and organic food in BiH.

“Our goal is, first of all, to present to the public the people who work hard to preserve traditions, production, cultivation, processing of medicinal herbs,” said Katica-Arnautović.

She noted that the Festival offers products as mono-components, tea blends, combinations of herbs and honey, natural cosmetics based on medicinal herbs.

She noted that there are a lot of cosmetics for children, which shows that the manufacturers have managed to develop such technologies that are good and safe to use for the children.

“We are very proud of our production of medicinal herbs because our exhibitors have made a wide range of products that are sold in the European Union, but also in the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, all the way to America and Australia,” emphasized Katica-Arnautović.

She also announced the formation of the BiH network under the brand "Our Product" (Naš proizvod), which will bring together small and medium-size manufacturers and processors of tea, herbs, forest by-products, mushrooms, berries, honey and other bee products, processed and dried fruits (juices, jams, etc.), ornamental flowers and shrubs, herbs, cheese and cured meat products.

She invited citizens to visit the Sarajevo Tea Fest from June 8 to 14, to talk to local manufacturers who will explain to them the best way to use their products and that everyone will surely find something for themselves.
