BANJA LUKA, May 31 (FENA) - The negative impact of coronavirus pandemic has particularly affected the tourism sector in Republika Srpska.

The large decline in the number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays is a direct consequence of the global spread of Covid-19 disease, as the borders were closed and most accommodation facilities were shut down, as well as an almost complete standstill in tourist traffic.

Therefore, in April, only 703 tourist arrivals were realized in the Republika Srpska, which is as much as 93.3 percent less than in March 2020.

In the same period, there were 3.430 overnight stays of tourists in RS, which is 90.4 percent less than in March 2020, announced the RS Bureau of Statistics.

The number of tourist arrivals in April 2020 compared to the same month last year decreased by 97.8 percent, and the number of overnight stays decreased by 95.5 percent.
