BANJA LUKA, May 29 (FENA) - Emergency situations crisis staff in Republika Srpska (RS) today agreed to terminate the contract related to the procurement of a field hospital, because the supplier, the company "Balkan Global", did not fulfill its obligations and demands the return of 4.2 million KM, the amount paid for that facility, said Director of the Institute for Public Health in RS, Branislav Zeljković.
He specified at the press conference in Banja Luka that the request for termination of the contract was requested by the Institute, because the installation of the field hospital was not completed.
He reminded that on March 26, based on the conclusion of the emergency situations crisis staff, the Institute initiated the procurement of the hospital, and the contract stipulates a deadline for its delivery of 12 days.
“The supplier did not deliver the field hospital within this period, that is, he did not perform the entire delivery. More precisely, the hospital was not put into function, as it was specified in the contract,” Zeljković pointed out.
The Government of the RS previously stated that the hospital was purchased for the needs of possible treatment of patients suffering from the consequences of coronavirus infection, and in case the capacity of the hospital is not adequate.
