SARAJEVO, May 27 (FENA) - Deputy in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Sredoje Nović (SNSD) said today in Sarajevo that it would be logical in every democratic country for the Central Election Commission to be elected in a legal and legitimate manner and to be absolutely independent body.
“It is the question is there anything that is independent in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The most experienced and best legal professionals should be working in the CEC, who know the entire procedure very well and assess whether they can prolong the elections or not,” said Nović.
He stated that if the elections are prolonged, there must be reasons and everything must be clear to everyone in BiH.
“It is obvious that many things are travesty in BiH and that no legal or constitutional principles are respected,” Nović added.
He also commented on the fact that 330 million euros, allocated by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to fight the coronavirus pandemic and mitigate the economic consequences, had not yet been distributed.
“What does it mean that there are millions that others give us, and we cannot reach an agreement over the money that someone sent? In a country like BiH, where we are crying out for every KM, we have come to a situation where we quarrel. We obviously do not have a culture of dialogue, nor a civilized relationship to discuss all issues with each other in order to reach a solution,” Nović added.
