SARAJEVO, May 27 (FENA) - Deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Bariša Čolak (HDZ BiH) said today that members of the BiH Central Election Commission (CEC) were elected illegally and that all their decisions, including the one on prolonging the elections, are questionable.

Čolak emphasized that they are not only illegal, but also illegitimate.

“When I say that, I only mean the Election Law, but also the Constitution of BiH. A number of legal regulations were violated there. What about those who applied or wanted to apply for the announced elections, where is their right? Are they discriminated against or not?” Čolak stated.

He stated that according to the Election Law, it is not possible to prolong elections that were not even held, and that it is only possible to postpone elections that did not take place at one polling station or constituency for another day, at least seven days and at most 30 days.

“There is no provision in the Election Law that allows elections to be prolonged in any way. Unfortunately, we are witnesses that the Central Election Commission did that,” said Čolak.

In a statement for the press, Čolak commented that it is unfortunate that 330 million euros, which was transferred by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), are in the account of the Central Bank of BiH, and that BiH is struggling with economic difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
