BANJA LUKA, May 21 (FENA) - Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TIBiH) has filed a criminal complaint with the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina against BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik on suspicion of committing a crime as an official for unauthorized eavesdropping and sound or optical recording.
“At the 13th special session of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska, Dodik stated that he was eavesdropping on the representatives of the opposition by phone, that every government was eavesdropping on the opposition, and he recounted the content of telephone conversations of opposition members. He also stated that all this was delivered to him by Minister of Internal Affairs of RS, Dragan Lukač, and then asked him to confirm his allegations,” they said in a statement from TIBiH.
In addition, the BiH Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) is responsible for gathering information regarding threats to the security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and may submit such information to the Presidency of BiH.
“These data can refer to security threats, such as terrorism and organized crime, and certainly must not refer to opposition political activities. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska has no authority regarding the collection of intelligence data, and that is why the statement of Milorad Dodik that he received the data from Minister of Internal Affairs Dragan Lukac is worrying,” they point out from TIBiH.
TI BiH reminds that this is not the first time that Dodik has threatened in his political speeches.
