SARAJEVO, May 20 (FENA) - After a break in the session, deputies of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina continued the debate and then adopted the Motion for Resolution on Respecting the Victims of the Ustasha Regime proposed by Our Party MPs Predrag Kojović, Mirjana Marinković-Lepić and Damir Arnaut as well as MP of the Independent Bloc Aida Baručija.

The Resolution reminds of the fascist character of the Ustasha regime of the so-called Independent State of Croatia, millions of victims of fascist regimes, many of whom are victims from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the commitment to protect their dignity and emphasizes the anti-fascist tradition of the BiH people.

Nikola Lovrinović, a member of the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ) of BiH, asked for a break in order to meet with the Collegium in an expanded convocation and proposed to amend this item to be the Proposal of a Decision on acceptance of the resolutions and declarations of the Council of Europe and the European Parliament related to the condemnation of the crimes of totalitarian regimes in the 20th century.

As this was not done after the break, he proposed an amendment to that agenda item and listed as a reason the fact that the proponents had amended the text of the resolution.

During the debate, Social Democratic Party (SDP) MP Nermin Nikšić said he could not believe that the 75 years after the World War II and someone was still debating in BiH about this, when the perpetrators were identified and the nature of the war was clear.

He called on everyone to finally distance themselves from those who committed crimes within paramilitary formations, and allegedly on behalf of people, and to finally accept the verdicts of international and domestic courts without equating or relativizing anyone's guilt.

After discussing this item on the agenda, Lovrinović said that the HDZ would leave the session because responsibilities and guilt were placed on their shoulders, and he announced that he would not vote on any item on the agenda.

Then the Speaker of the House Nebojša Radmanović changed the practice in the House where all items on the agenda are voted on after the discussion of all items and decided to vote immediately on the amendments, some of which were adopted and became part of the resolution. The resolution was ultimately adopted with 25 votes in favor.
