SARAJEVO, May 19 (FENA) - Deputies of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina discussed ammendments to the BiH Criminal Code in the first reading, related to specifying terrorist activities and threats that would be adequately sanctioned.

The law was proposed by Saša Magazinović (SDP), Jasmin Emrić (A-SDA) and Šemsudin Mehmedović (SDA) and clarified that it treats the dangers posed by people traveling abroad for the purpose of committing terrorist acts and also addresses the issue of information threats.

According to Croat Democratic Union (HDZ) MP Nikola Lovrinović, he will support the law in its first reading, but called on the proponents to secure the opinion of the BiH Council of Ministers on that by the second reading.

MP of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), Snježana Novaković Bursać, said that she appreciates the intention for an institutional and better fight against terrorism, but added that it is the duty of the legislature to refine the systems, and not to create additional confusion.

MP of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Alma Čolo said that this does not create any confusion because it is well known where the law is applied, although BiH has four systems and that is the reason for discrimination of BiH citizens depending on the criminal justice system.

The deputies reminded that there was already a consensus on this legal solution in the last convocation of the parliament, and that it was not adopted just because it was proposed before the end of the mandate.

After the discussion on this item on the agenda, the Speaker of the House, Nebojša Radmanović (SNSD), adjourned the session and announced its continuation for tomorrow, May 20.
