Two patients die in Prijedor, the mayor in self-isolation

FENA Press release

PRIJEDOR, May 14 (FENA) - Deputy Mayor of Prijedor Aleksandar Miljuš said today that in the last 24 hours in that city, two people died who were infected with coronavirus.

He told reporters that the mayor of Prijedor, Milenko Đaković, and a member of the Crisis Staff, Zlatko Ritan, are in self-isolation after they were in contact with a person who was confirmed to be positive for coronavirus.

The acting director of the hospital in Prijedor, Mirko Sovilj, explained that a female patient who had been treated at the Covid-19 ward for seven days, died suddenly at the health institution on Wednesday.

Despite the fact that this was a sixty-six-year-old patient with comorbidities, the recovery related to the problems caused by coronavirus went very well and a favorable outcome was expected. Yesterday, death was sudden, we assume due to cardiac arrest or, possibly, embolism," said Sovilj and added that the patient had previously been treated at the University Medical Center in Banja Luka.

Another female patient died, 67 years of age, who was being treated at the oncology department and who had no clinical manifestation of coronavirus infection.

Of the tested workers at the hospital in Prijedor, one specialist doctor tested positive. Earlier, COVID-19 was confirmed in two nurses in that health institution.
