SARAJEVO, May 12 (FENA) - Deputy Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Josip Brkić held a video conference today with Deputy Secretary-General of the European External Action Service and Political Director Enrique Mora.
The interlocutors discussed the fight against COVID-19 pandemic and summary of the EU Summit of the Western Balkans, which was held in Zagreb last week.
They agreed that the Zagreb Summit, despite being held via video link due to the COVID-19 pandemic, confirmed the European Union's continued commitment to the Western Balkans. Deputy Secretary-General Mora stressed that it is a matter of time before the countries of the Western Balkans become members of the EU.
Deputy Minister Brkić and Deputy Secretary-General Mora expressed expectations that the EU's multiannual budgetary framework would be adopted in the coming period and that the planned EU funds for the Western Balkans would confirm the region's political, economic and security priority.
During the video conference, they also talked about activities on BiH's European path, the current political situation in BiH, the upcoming local elections in our country, with special emphasis on the elections in Mostar and overall cooperation between countries in the region, the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
